Geography
At Jones Lake State Park there are two Carolina bay lakes: Jones Lake and Salters Lake. Carolina bay lakes are shallow oval lakes with a sandy-rim that holds rain and groundwater. There is a series of Carolina bays along the east coast. It is unclear how Carolina bays were formed.
