Description
Medoc Mountain State Park sits atop the 300-foot tall remnants of a mountain ranges from 350 million years ago. Medoc Mountain State Park features primitive equestrian campsites as well as heated and air conditioned cabins.

Medoc Mountain State Park has camping, hiking (29 miles) biking (9 miles), horseback riding (10 miles), paddling, fishing, picnicking, and birdwatching.
Flora and Fauna
The Neuse River waterdog can be found at Medoc Mountain State Park. The Neuse River waterdog is one of the rarest salamanders in the Southeastern United States.
