Description
Stone Mountain State Park is home to the 600-foot granite dome that is a designated National Natural Landmark. The park is a high country landscape with waterfalls, winding creeks, and trout streams.
Stone Mountain State Park has camping, hiking, climbing, fishing, and bridle trails. A portion of the Mountains-to-Sea State Trail runs through the park.

Rock climbing, bouldering and rappelling are allowed at Stone Mountain State Park. Climbing permits are required. All climbers must register for a permit. Permits are available at visitor centers or park offices and at the climbing accesses.
