Description
Located near Pinehurst, Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve is a longleaf pine forest with trees that are hundreds of years old.
Weymouth Woods is comprised of three different tracts: the main nature preserve, Boyd Tract, and Paint Hill Tract. The three tracts are not connected and have different access points.
The oldest known living longleaf pine can be found at the Boyd Tract Access.
Recreation
Weymouth Woods has a variety of hiking and bridle (horseback riding) trails that wind through longleaf pine forests.
Flora and Fauna
Weymouth Woods is home to the red cockaded woodpecker, fox squirrel, and Sandhills pyxie-moss.
Amenities
Amenities are available at Weymouth Woods tract only. There are no amenities at Boyd and Paint Hill tracts.
