Description
Located near Pinehurst, Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve—Boyd Tract is located behind the Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities also known as the historic James Boyd House. From the parking lot facing the house, follow the right edge of the lot until it turns into the trail entrance with park sign.
The oldest known living longleaf pine can be found at the Boyd Tract Access.

Weymouth Woods-Sandhills Nature Preserve—Boyd Tract Features a one mile loop hiking trail and equestrian/bridle trails for horseback riding.

Need to Know
To find the oldest known longleaf pine using the park map, head to the section of the Round Timber Trail where the icon for the oldest tree is shown on the map and look on the side of the trail for 2 green metal stakes. Between the states there will be a short path directly to the tree.
The oldest known longleaf pine can be identified by a large dark scar at the base of the tree.
